Around 5:00pm on Tuesday, the McLennan County Sheriff’s Officer arrested Christopher Paul Weiss in Temple. He will be charged with double capital murder. The 1-year-old that was murdered is believed to be his biological child.

Deputies believe Weiss was in the process of fleeing Temple, with his family, when the arrest was made. Valarie Martinez, age 24, and her 1-year-old daughter were found murdered near Tradinghouse Lake on Sunday. The child was shot in the head, while still strapped in her child-seat.
