It is without question that some of the best footballers in the world come from England. From Wayne Rooney to David Beckham to Bobby Moore, the culture and widespread admiration for football across the pond has resulted in some fantastic talents making their way to the top, and many of those talents have found their way to the United States. The youth systems in England are some of the best in the world, and players that have developed within those systems have the potential to blossom into stars.

Tyler Hudson - Defender - Dalton State College

A Liverpool-native, Tyler Hudson grew up playing for the Liverpool School boys who were undefeated for an unprecedented five straight years. The six foot left back also featured as part of the Everton, Rovers, and Wigan Athletic youth systems, as well as part of the Morecambe U17 club that won the Open Cup. Hudson then made his way to the United States where he continued his youth career playing for Concorde Fire before signing on with Dalton State College prior to their first-ever season in 2015.

During his freshman season, Hudson featured as part of a back-line that recorded five shutouts en route to an 11-7-1 overall record, but one note that really catches the eye about Hudson's seventeen appearances is the three assists he added from the back. Playing as a left back in certain systems usually requires the player to be able to push up the field and play balls into the box, and Hudson seems to have plenty of experience in that role. His sophomore season saw significantly less playing time for the Englishman as he only appeared in four matches. The Roadrunners made a run all the way to the SSAC Championships Final in 2016 before losing 1-0 to William Carey. 2017 saw Hudson get a little more involved once again with Dalton State as he appeared in twelve total matches, including one start. Making the most of the 266 minutes he had, Hudson picked up two assists, both of which came in Dalton State's 11-2 rout of Oakwood. The Roadrunners finished the season #20 in the NAIA with three shutouts on a 12-4-2 record, falling in the second round of the SSAC Championships to Mobile.

A defender with a large frame who can use his strength to fight opposing strikers and attacking midfielders off the ball, Tyler Hudson plays his game very similar to that of Atlanta United left back Greg Garza. Heading into the PDL season, look for Hudson to be a consistent name on the teamsheet, as strength out on the wings has been a feature MOBA have craved in their first two seasons. Hudson is the kind of player who could make an immediate impact on the success of Peachtree City early on in the season and could continue that as MOBA push for a playoff spot.
