A Vision for Voting for Peace.
The Vision Alignment Project
Today's Vision is a bit different, but it is completely in line with the VAP. It comes from Diana Endresen from Seattle, WA. Diana says:
As I was reading about Linda's Vision of Departments of Peace, I recalled a science fiction short story I read sometime in the mid-to-late 1960's.
I don't recall the title of the short story nor the author, but the idea was that people had machines in their homes that were connected and they would "vote" as to how their tax dollars were to be spent - like $30 to foreign missions, $50 to the State Department, $75 to Department of Education, etc. The result was that fewer and fewer people sent money to the Pentagon and more and more people sent money to the Department of Peace, so at the end of the story, the Departmentof Peace was the largest department of the government. Cool, eh? I recall at the time the idea of a Department of Peace really interested me. I didn't pay much attention to the machines in the home, no frame of reference, but the Internet could be playing that role.
How fun!
Love and peace your way, thank you for your work.
