Man Goes On Shooting Spree Early Sunday Morning In Austin Texas

A man is in custody in Austin this morning after he went on a shooting spree near I-35. Two adults and one child were injured when he opened fire in multiple locations with what was described as an assault rifle. This all began in the very early hours of Sunday morning.

The child (7-years-old) suffered life threatening injuries, while a male (29) and a female (31) were treated for minor injuries. It is unclear, at this time, what the shooters motivations might have been. Police did say they thought he might have been high on either drugs or alcohol.

Additional vehicles were hit by gunfire, but none of the passengers were injured. The name of suspect has not been released at this time.
