It’s easy to image today’s church shootings being worse, if it occurred somewhere else besides Texas. A man, armed with a rifle, saw what was happening at the Baptist Church and engaged the gunman with his own rifle fire.

After firing at the shooter, he dropped his rife and fled the scene. At least on this occasion, having an armed citizen nearby when a mass shooting was taking place, certainly saved lives.

The whole idea of allowing open carry in Texas, is to save lives in a situation just like the one that happened today.
